Lawyer Donata Piantanida

Ms. Donata Piantanida was born in Novara, Italy, where she obtained her high school diploma in classical studies, then moved to Milan to attend Law School at the Statale University of Milan.

Ms. Piantanida’s university studies, travels in Europe, the United States, Latin America, and China provided her with the opportunity to truly understand the different realities and cultures around the world.

During those years, Ms. Piantanida broadened her understanding of the political and legal aspects of international cooperation, and relations between nations and supranational organisations, by attending the Advanced Studies Course in International Relations organised by “Italian Society for International Organisation” (S.I.O.I.).

She graduated summa cum laude in Civil Procedure, under the supervision of Professor Giuseppe Tarzia. Ms. Piantanida was admitted to the Milan Bar Association and, since 2010, has been licensed to argue before the Supreme Court.

After working at the Studio Legale Danovi law firm for ten years, in 1999 Ms. Piantanida founded her law firm, Studio Legale Piantanida in Milan.

The firm specialises exclusively in family and juvenile law, and has built up considerable experience at national and international levels in these areas.

Ms. Piantanida is active in the professional community which is dedicated to the study and development of family law issues in Italy. She is a member of the Italian Family Lawyers Association (A.I.A.F.), having also been a member of its regional Executive Committee. Since 2013, she has been a member of the Executive Committee of the Centre for Reform of Family Law. Ms. Piantanida is a member of the Juvenile Law Chamber of Milan and the National Observatory of Family Law. She has been a member of the International Association of Juvenile and Family Court Judges (A.I.M.J.F.) for over ten years.

Ms. Piantanida has taught family law at the Just Legal Service Legal Training School in Milan. She has presented papers at conferences on juvenile and family law and has written articles on legal theory for the specialty journals Famiglia e Diritto and il Familiarista.

Ms. Piantanida serves as guardian ad litem for minors.

Ms. Piantanida personally assists every client, with the help of her associates, and together they develop the best strategies for each individual case.
